This past weekend six of the seven of our high school teams that qualified for the BASS Nation of Virginia Youth State Championship on Lake Gaston gave it their all against 39 other high school teams in the state for the two spots available to the National Championship. Our two junior teams that qualified battled against 20 other junior teams for their three available spots. It was a hard fought battle with beautiful weather on Saturday Day 1, with end of the day weights in both divisions being extremely close. Day 1's beautiful weather was short lived with Sunday Day 2 conditions being total opposites with rain, wind,and some very heavy downpours at times. As many would have packed up and gone home these young men and women showed their determination and dedication by pushing through it. Some big moves in the standings were made in both directions up and down,unfortunately coming up short of the National Championship. No matter the outcome this entire team has shown why we are one of the BEST IN THE STATE!
We as parents, family members,and boat captains are extremely proud of these talented young anglers!
