The History of Lake Anna Elite Anglers

We are a team of high school, middle school, and elementary school anglers created by dedicated parents and sustained by volunteer Boat Captains. After the COVID Pandemic our local school system would not allow anglers to compete, thus Lake Anna Elite Anglers was formed in 2020. We are a 501( c )3 nonprofit organization and a licensed corporation by the State of Virginia SCC.

The team is B.A.S.S. Nation of Virginia Youth registered, which means we compete in four State Qualifiers for the BASSMASTER High School series. In addition to the four State Qualifiers, we hold a team tournament once a month, generally held on Lake Anna.

Our team is broken into two anglers and one boat captain. Every year since forming we have had a team or teams earn a spot to fish the B.A.S.S. State Championship and in 2024 we had two teams make it to Nationals. Also, in 2024 our junior teams won the Joseph A Memorial Tournament, crowning them the best junior team in the state.

Over the years the team has had numerous local newspaper articles written showcasing the accomplishments and contributions of the team and its anglers. They’ve been featured in Lake Anna Connection biannual magazine. The team has had an article published in B.A.S.S. TIMES magazine highlighting our Day of Fishing for Children with Special Needs Program.
